BABESCH foundation

What does the BABESCH foundation do?

The BABESCH foundation aims to collect knowledge and to stimulate research about Mediterranean Archaeology and make this accessible for a broad public. It does so by organizing the annual Babesch Byvanck Lecture and awarding early career scholars. The core activity of the foundation is publishing the BABESCH Annual Papers on Mediterranean Archaeology, since 1926. Additionally, the foundation publishes the BABESCH Supplements, a series of books in the field of Mediterranean Antiquity. Our ambition is to support initiatives aimed at advancing and disseminating knowledge about Mediterranean Archaeology.
